The truth of the matter is, the more room we are given, the more we think we need. Thus urban sprawl, over development, etc, etc. And this same philosophy actually applies to travel believe it or not. So, exactly how much room is enough room?
WELL, I don't know about you but I myself suffer from the same problem that I'd imagine most women my age might. A little something we might call FOMO or Fear Of Missing Outfits. That paralyzing, panicky feeling you get when you start eliminating things from your bag for lack of room and suddenly the margin of possible outfit combinations, well, it narrows a bit. I have to say, I've come a long way and made some progress in this realm but every once in a while, that all too familiar feeling returns and I get the sudden urge to throw it all back in the bag, smash it down and pray the zipper does me a solid.
But sometimes, that's just not enough. Like when you're packing for a whirlwind weekend trip and are allowed only a carry on. There's just no way around it, you have to get a little innovative. So I thought I would share with you my list of things to pack in a carry-on, and particularly the smallest possible carry-on option, the backpack. That way the next time you start dreading that night before take-off, when all the packing inevitably begins, you can refer back to this list and hopefully, feel just the tiniest bit better!
Warning, this may require some self control and a thorough/realistic knowledge of what you will actually wear and what are actual necessities. I packed using a L.L. Bean style back pack or you can also use one of equivalent size (Dimensions: 17"H x 13"W x 9½"D).

This should be a great starter list for you to build off of and if you think of any other items or perhaps even feel that you could take some of these items out of your bag based on necessity, that's great too!
